Our Solid Surfacing department offers a full fabrication and machining service.

Acrylic solid surfacing provides a perfectly smooth and tactile surface that allows inconspicuous jointing and edging. Seams are fused together to provide a flush and moisture resistant bond across the surfaces. Since it is non porous, every day stains can be removed with just soap and water.

Minerelle, Encore and our own Solideight worktops are manufactured in a blank form similar to standard laminate worktops however with the added advantage of inconspicuous joints, curved ends, under-mount sinks and draining board grooves.

We also offer a fully bespoke service using 12.5mm thick Hanex, available in over 50 designs and allowing us to create surfaces from 24mm up to 75mm thick

These tops are manufactured with an 8mm thick acrylic based solid surface bonded to a 100% waterproof substrate made from re-cycled plastics and foils and finished on the underside with a balancer laminate.

Solideight is highly resilient to scoring and damage, retaining its smooth surface for many years. Time does not leave its marks……………fruits, vegetables, fruit juices, soft drinks & alcohol do not stain this product.

Solideight has a hard, homogenous, durable and resistant surface and being nonporous it does not absurd water.

Additional 'inline workstations' are not required with this product as undermount sinks and drainer grooves can be machined into the 8mm solid laminate thus avoiding any additional joints etc.

A natural mineral and polyester range of solid surface components that is ultra-hygenic and can be seamlessly jointed using standard woodworking tools, to create a finished work surface that has an amazing homogenous appearance.

A conventional 'inset' sink should be used with our standard Minerelle work surfaces, however to capitalise on the benefits of solid surfacing, we recommend the use of an undermount sink to provide the visual impact and added sense of luxury that a single, homogenous, work surface can provide.

The 12mm thick solid surface of the Inline workstation has been specifically developed to enable the installation of undermount sinks with the provision of drainer grooves. The 'inline workstation' therefore blends in completely and seamlessly with the rest of the Minerelle work surfaces.

Minerelle kitchen worksurfaces are 40mm thick with 18 colours to choose from. Some of the colours are available in a 30mm thick worksurface, ideal for bathrooms.

new! Encore is a fusion of the traditional with the contemporary. Fine particles blend magically with the fashionably neutral colour pallette. Sleek and seamless, Encore is cool to the touch and beautifully enticing to the eye - yet is uncompromisingly tough when your kitchen demands it.

Available in 8 stunning colours Encore combines a thicker than average 5mm solid surface layer onto a high density environmentally preferred chipboard substrate and is backed with a high pressure laminate on the underside.

Independently tested by FIRA the Encore surface is resistant to temperatures of 240ºC and is five times more impact resistant than any of its peers. The hard non-porous surface is beautifully practical, yet incredibly tough when it comes to everyday wear and tear and common kitchen spills. It’s hygienic and easy to keep clean with mild detergent and water.

Bespoke Solid Surface Worktops

Hanex solid surfacing is a premium product that combines extensive design choice with superior performance.

Perfect for domestic kitchens and bathrooms, solid surfacing also excels in commercial applications such as washrooms, bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Working with 12.5mm solid acrylic sheets manufactured by Hanex we can offer you a bespoke worktop in over 50 colours/designs. We first of all make templates of your kitchen units, we then work the sheet material, add some moisture resistant MDF plus a large pinch of skilled cratfman and create worktops to match the templates. The worktops are then delivered to your home for us to install.

Please note that our Hanex worktops are not suitable for DIY installation!

A note of caution!

All the manufacturers of the Solid Surface blank systems state that their worktops can be cut & installed with normal woodworking tools etc however like all things in life tasks that look easy are not always that straightforward. Do you remember ‘The Generation Game’ when contestants were shown a task, which was demonstrated by a specialist who made it look easy and then they had to carry out the same task!!! Cutting, edging and shaping solid laminate tops is not as straight forward as dealing with a laminate top. Yes the worktops can be installed by a highly competent DIY’er who has a good set of quality tools, who will take extra time and care when machining the product, who will follow the installation instructions to the letter [ especially prior to jointing & edging the tops ] and who will then spend the right time on the final sanding and finishing.

If you don’t then you will not achieve the end results that are possible.

We know, we have seen some of 'the end results'!!

The initial preparation of these tops is, without doubt, better carried out in a workshop by experienced cratfsmen, prior to installation by your joiner or indeed yourself. We are always willing to offer you FREE impartial advice.
